The co-creator of Call of Duty, who helped create the globally famous first-person shooter Call of Duty, has passed away in a car accident in California he was 55 years old.

Zampella's death was verified by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the video game company he co-founded.

The influential video game developer lost his life when his vehicle was involved in a crash and was engulfed in flames on a highway in Los Angeles on this past Sunday, according to.
