Remains Found in Vehicle Registered to Singer D4vd Identified as Disappeared Teenager

Investigation Scene
Authorities confirm the singer is cooperating with the active investigation

Authorities in the United States have confirmed that badly decomposed remains found in a car registered to artist D4vd have been identified as a previously disappeared 15-year-old female.

Police officers located the remains of Celeste Rivas inside the boot of an seized Tesla on 8 September, after investigating complaints of a strong smell at a Los Angeles impound lot.

Authorities stated that both the manner and date of her demise are still undetermined.

Rivas, from Lake Elsinore in California, was 13 at the moment of her disappearance and was spotted on 5 April 2024, as stated in a public alert.

Earlier, police mentioned that the Tesla had likely been at the tow yard for "a couple of days" before the discovery.

The car, which bears a Texas license plate, was removed from the Hollywood Hills after being left five days earlier.

The automobile is under the name of 20-year-old David Anthony Burke, the legal name of recording artist D4vd.

Last week, the coroner's office stated that the individual whose remains were found was 5ft 2in tall, had curly black hair, and was wearing a sleeveless shirt and black leggings.

It was added that the remains had a tattoo on the right index finger that said: "Shhh."

The body were not complete, and it seemed the girl had been deceased for an extended duration of time, according to police insiders.

D4vd, who has a large number of followers on online platforms, is best known for his popular hits "Here With Me" and "Romantic Homicide".

He launched his first album in April and was on tour when the remains were found in the Tesla. The concert planned show in Seattle on Wednesday was cancelled.

Police say that D4vd is co-operating with the inquiry.
