Iranian Forces State Strike on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Regional Retaliatory Strikes.

Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a significant and ongoing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area close to the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any destruction is not yet known and the US has not commented.

Regional Interceptions

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on sites associated with the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the government.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," the statement continued.

It said missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some structural damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
